Reflection
After each studio project you finish, you are expected to write up a reflection accompanied by a photo of your completed studio work.
1. A photo of your studio work
Tips:
-Choose an area with good natural soft light. Do not take a photo with artificial light if you can avoid it as it will completely change the color.
-The angle of your camera should be straight and centered on your studio work.
-Take at least 3 photos as you never know if 1 of them will be blurry. Always take more than one so you can choose the best one to take into the editing stage.
Editing:
-Use a photo editing software (Photos, iphoto, Picasa) to edit your best photo.
-You should straighten your photo, crop the outside of it away, adjust exposure and contrast if necessary.
2. Written Reflection
Your written reflection should be typed in PARAGRAPH format in COMPLETE sentences. Do not include the questions below in your writing.
Include a TITLE of the project, and the date completed.
Prompts:
-Introduce the project challenge. What was this assignment all about? Was there a particular artist/art movement that was the catalyst for this project? Tell us about that.
-Summarize the process of making this piece. Mention the art materials/programs you used.
-What did you learn in the process of making this work? (Example: Were you paying closer attention to the relationship between positive space and negative space? How so?)
-What was most challenging in this project for you? Were there any problems or roadblocks that came up as you were making this project? How did you overcome those?
-What did you enjoy most about this project?
-Going forward, what new ideas about art/art making/process do you now have after completing this project?
